Learning Environment:

Dual-class classroom setting.  In this setting two grade levels share a teacher, and the teacher teaches two curriculums.  The dual classroom setting has proven to be a very effective tool to help foster concentration and focus on the subject matter being taught.  Our graduates are less distracted in their new environments and can remain focused on their own work when other things are happening around them in the classroom.

Curriculum:

Holy Family offers a complete curriculum for our students.  Please check out our fact sheets for each grade level.  Our standards are based on the standards as set forth by the Office of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Madison.  Our curriclum includes:

  • Math
  • Social Studies
  • Science
  • Reading
  • Spelling
  • Handwriting
  • Computer Technology integrated into core curriculum
  • Art
  • Music
  • Physical Education
  • Independent piano and band lessons

Sports:

Many of our students participate in the WYSO youth sports program.  For more information, click on the link icon at the bottom of our home page.

Faith Formation:

Every student in our school receives instruction in the Catholic faith three times per week by a religion education teacher.  Students attend Mass once per week, with opportunities for special prayer services and other devotions throughout the school year.   Students are involved in each Mass as song leaders, lectors, altar servers and gift bearers. Students who share in our Catholic faith are prepared for the reception of the Sacraments of Penance and First Eucharist.  Each day begins with prayer, and teachers incorporate the faith into each of their classrooms.

Transportation:

Bus transportation is provided to residents in the city of Waterloo and in the village of Marshall.  Vouchers are issued to our families in Lake Mills in lieu of bus transportation.  There is a carpool that has been worked out with some of our families from Lake Mills.  For more information on transportation, contact the school office.

Tuition:

Tuition rates vary for each of our programs.  Families who are registered members of Holy Family, St. Francis Xavier in Lake Mills or St. Mary Magdalene in Johnson Creek receive a discount on tuition rates.  For the 2013-14 school year, in-parish tuition in grades 1-6 is $1,800.  If a family has more than one child enrolled in school, a step-down rate of $100 is applied (1st child $1,700; second child $1,600; 3rd child, $1,500; etc.

Parent Involvement
and Volunteers:

Because we are a small school, we rely heavily on the generosity of our parents and parishioners to volunteer and provide help in the classrooms.  Holy Family has an active parent organization which supports the needs of the school through fundraising efforts and marketing.  Visit the organization's web page for more information.

Graduates:

Many of our graduates achieve high academic honors in middle, junior high and high school.
